Manuel Neuer will return to international duty on Sunday when Germany face Curaçao in their first 2026 World Cup match, after Julian Nagelsmann confirmed he is ready. According to BuLi News, the head coach delivered the update in his final pre-match press conference.

The 40-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper reversed his decision to retire from international football last month, but missed friendlies against Finland and USA because of injury.

There had been doubts over his availability for the Houston fixture, yet he completed full training on Saturday without issues.

Oliver Baumann expressed frustration at losing his starting place so close to the tournament, and Nagelsmann accepted it is a difficult situation for the Hoffenheim goalkeeper.

Neuer last played for Germany at the home Euros, where they were beaten in the quarter-final by eventual champions Spain.
