Radja Nainggolan, a former Roma and Inter player, gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport and discussed the upcoming clash between the two teams at the Olimpico.

“Gasperini is doing well, even if he’s not playing great football yet. In fact, he’s incomparable to his time at Atalanta… But if he’s scoring points playing like this, where can he go when the players start to understand his movements?”

“This is an important sign: it means Roma can still grow. Gasperini hammers away and finally gets into their heads. The few goals conceded are the first step.”

“I still think the same thing about Koné: he’s physically very strong, but he stops there. He lacks consistency: few assists, few goals, he needs to be more impactful. He can still hold down a midfield on his own, and at Inter he would have freed up Barella and Mkhitaryan. The real talents, however, are different…”

“Soulé is a real talent, but he too needs to take a step further. He needs to be more present in the game. He’s very concrete; he scores the chances he gets, but he needs to create many more. I’m also happy for Pellegrini, who has Roma inside him: a goal in the derby isn’t going to change your career, but he can definitely be a part of this team.”
