Napoli among several clubs interested in signing Raheem Sterling after Chelsea exit | OneFootball

According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, several clubs are interested in signing Raheem Sterling (31) following the termination of his contract with Chelsea. The England international attacker has departed Stamford Bridge as a free agent despite having 18-months left on his previous deal. 

The Englishman has endured a difficult period with the Premier League club. Despite spending last season on loan at Arsenal and making it clear he wanted to move during the summer transfer window, the attacker failed to leave Chelsea. With just 5 days left of the winter transfer window, the forward has his wish and is now free to negotiate with interested clubs. 

Napoli contact Sterling’s entourage over potential free transfer

Napoli are one of the clubs interested in signing the former Manchester City forward. The Serie A champions have already contacted the 31-year-old’s entourage regarding a potential move to Naples. However, the Italian club are not thought to have a clear run at his services, with Hawkins reporting that there is fierce competition for Sterling’s signature.
