Napoli are beginning to ramp up their search for a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replacement following the club’s agreement with PSG for his transfer, as the Partenopei continue to explore options surrounding Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.

Napoli step up search for Kvaratskhelia replacement

Over the weekend, it was reported that Antonio Conte has identified Manchester United’s Garnacho as his preferred option to replace Kvaratskhelia.

Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna reportedly met with Garnacho’s agent in Barcelona, but there could be issues regarding a transfer fee.

The Partenopei have reportedly prepared an offer in the region of €45m, made up of €40m plus bonuses, but Manchester United are seeking a significantly higher fee.

Some outlets originally quoted a figure in the region of €60m, while Calciomercato.com suggest that United will seek a fee around the €70m mark, if not even higher.

However, Tuesday’s report suggests that there is also potentially a deal to be done with Borussia Dortmund for 22-year-old forward Karim Adeyemi.

The four-time Germany international is expected to be available for a fee in the region of €40m after falling slightly out of favour at Signal Iduuna Park this season.

An injury kept Adeyemi out of eight Bundesliga matches between October and December, which has limited him to just six starts in the Bundesliga this term.

There are also suggestions that Napoli could potentially seek a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Adeyemi’s compatriot Timo Werner, while Italy international Federico Chisea is seen as a last resort on loan from Liverpool.
