Evan Ferguson’s future at Roma is far from certain.

Having arrived on loan from Brighton with an option to buy last summer, the Irish striker failed to fully convince Gian Piero Gasperini in the first few months, so much so that the club decided to make offensive changes in the January transfer window, negotiating for Zirkzee and Raspadori.

Roma is currently considering terminating Ferguson’s loan with Brighton early.

Meanwhile, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli have reportedly made an interest in the Irish striker, and new contacts have reportedly taken place today between the Campania club and the striker’s entourage.

The next few days will be crucial to understanding Ferguson’s future, as he’s ready to lead Roma’s attack against Sassuolo.

A return to the Premier League currently seems unlikely, as much will depend on Roma’s other transfer decisions.
