Napoli have submitted an opening offer for Mario Gila that Lazio have turned down. According to Alfredo Pedulla, the proposal was 15 million and fell well short of the 30 million valuation.
The 25-year-old has interest across Europe and, with his contract up next year, is said to be pushing for a move. Napoli are viewed as the frontrunners, so it is on them to strike a deal with Claudio Lotito.
Real Madrid are entitled to 50% of any profit Lazio generate on a sale.
Napoli could try to bridge the gap by adding a player in exchange, potentially on loan with an option to buy.
Three candidates have been mooted, starting with Rafa Marin. The 24-year-old, a Real Madrid academy graduate who joined Napoli in 2025, spent last season on loan at Villarreal and is due back this summer. The club are thought to prefer keeping the Spaniard.
Sam Beukema, 27, impressed at Bologna before joining the Azzurri last summer, but he struggled for impact under Antonio Conte. He remains well regarded internally, though he could be open to a move.
Finally, striker Lorenzo Lucca is an option and is reportedly admired by Gennaro Gattuso. After arriving last summer he saw limited minutes at Napoli, then endured a forgettable six-month spell at Nottingham Forest.
