Serie A champions Napoli have been trying to sign Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez and are now set to sign the full-back.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report today that Real Madrid have decided to not exercise their buyback clause for the left-back. This presents a major advantage for Napoli, who now have only a few details missing to seal a deal.

There is an agreement between the two clubs over a permanent deal, with Napoli offering €18 million plus €2 million. The Partenopei take on Girona at the weekend and it will be the perfect time to lay down the last few details.

There is already an agreement over personal terms, with the 24-year-old set to sign a five-year deal worth €2.3 million per season plus bonuses.

Napoli have been interested in the full-back since last year and now, they are close to making a move happen, with Gutierrez having been an important player for the Spanish side.
