According to Sportitalia, Napoli are on the verge of agreeing a €20m deal, including add-ons, with Hellas Verona for striker Giovane, moving ahead of Lazio.

Lazio had been close, holding several meetings with Verona over a potential move.

Napoli freed funds by sending Lorenzo Lucca on loan with an option to buy to Nottingham Forest, and Noa Lang to Galatasaray on a €3m loan with a €27m option.

The clubs are said to have shaken hands on the framework of the agreement and are now ironing out details, including personal terms for the Brazilian.

Giovane, 22, joined Hellas in July 2025 from Corinthians as a free agent and can play centrally, in support, or wide on the right.

His arrival could be even more significant with reports that David Neres could be sidelined for a couple of months.
