The Newcastle United contracts position.
Interesting to take a look now that Ross Wilson has been announced.
The club finally with a Newcastle United Sporting Director in place.
Saturday seeing official confirmation that United and Nottingham Forest had reached agreement for Ross Wilson to make the move to St James’ Park.
How the Newcastle United contracts situation currently looks (via official club releases and media reports), when current deals are up:
End of June 2026:
Schar, Targett, Pope, Ashby, Trippier, Krafth, Lascelles, Ramsdale
End of June 2027:
Botman, Burn, Jacob Murphy, Willock
End of June 2028:
Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, Bruno, Miley, Joelinton, Alex Murphy
End of June 2029:
Hall, Gordon, Wissa, Thiaw
End of June 2030:
Elanga
End of June 2031:
Woltemade
So what will be the Ross Wilson priorities when it comes to Newcastle United contracts?
Unless United have an extra season option that can be triggered on one or more players, you would imagine that Nick Pope is a pressing one with his contract due to be up at the end of June 2026. Whilst another year for Kieran Trippier would likely be the intention, if he is up for that.
Sven Botman and Sandro Tonali of course will I’m sure see Newcastle United act in the coming months to extend their current deals.
Generally a very healthy situation though, especially as the last year or so has seen excellent work in moving a number of players out who no longer had a future at the club.
