Arsenal have not made any contact with Newcastle, but the full-back is one of several targets being spoken to for each position as the club looks to bolster its squad.

Livramento and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta have the same agent, which could make a deal easier to complete.

The Englishman will have two years left on his contract at the end of the season and has not yet shown a willingness to sign an extension.

He can play on both sides of the defence, and his versatility appeals to Arsenal. They could sell Ben White this summer, and Livramento would be a perfect replacement.

Jurrien Timber has struggled to stay fit and Arteta will be keen to bring in a versatile full-back this summer.

Newcastle will ask for around £60 million for Livramento, and it is unclear whether Arsenal will meet their demands.

He is willing to join Arsenal, given their status as credible Premier League challengers over the last four seasons.
