Looking at these Premier League fixtures on Saturday in this round of matches.
Seeing the other games from a Newcastle United perspective.
Eddie Howe and his players kicking off at 2pm in their Sunday match away at Brentford.
This weekend there are five Premier League fixtures today (Saturday 8 November), then five on Sunday (including NUFC’s).
As a Newcastle United fan, have a look at today’s (Saturday’s) other Premier League fixtures and have a think about what you’d like to happen and what is likely in terms of results.
Saturday 8 November
Spurs v Man U (12.30pm)
Everton v Fulham (3pm)
West Ham v Burnley (3pm)
Sunderland v Arsenal (5.30pm)
Chelsea v Wolves (8pm)
Sunday 9 November
Villa v Bournemouth (2pm)
Brentford v Newcastle (2pm)
Palace v Brighton (2pm)
Forest v Leeds (2pm)
Man City v Liverpool (4.30pm)
This is how the table looks on Saturday morning (8 November 2025) before any of the ten Premier League fixtures this weekend are played:
My conclusions and predictions on Saturday’s matches
Spurs v Man U
Two much-hyped but very average teams. Anything could happen here.
The media raving about Spurs when they beat Copenhagen in midweek, swiftly forgetting about how feeble they had been in losing at home to Chelsea last weekend and United dispatching them comfortably 2-0 at St James’ Park in the League Cup before that.
Man U have carried huge luck when winning three in a row in the Premier League and that luck continued last time when very fortunate to draw at relegation threatened Forest last time.
I think a draw is most likely and it could be a high scoring one.
Everton v Fulham (3pm)
Is it just me, or does it feel like these two clubs play each other in the Premier League pretty much every other week? You know, the type of match where you think who would tune in to watch this? Which is largely why it has stayed as a 3pm non-televised (legally in the UK) match.
Watched the mackem v scouse mackems derby on Monday night. Quality was pretty poor all round.
Everton should have had the game won easily by half-time but only led 1-0 and then promptly conceded straight after the break and were woeful, in the end lucky to get a draw.
They might have a new stadium but the scouse mackems remain very limited on the pitch and pretty much unwatchable.
Fulham have a far better team, in my opinion, as well as capable of playing attractive football. They had been on a four match losing run until winning 3-0 against a 10 man Wolves side but I don’t think they were playing like the results suggest. They only lost 1-0 to Arsenal and gave United a game when losing 2-1 at St James’ Park, looking at those last three PL games I don’t see Fulham losing today. My money is on any away win, though Everton might bore a low scoring draw.
West Ham v Burnley (3pm)
Another fixture where the fact it has been left not selected by the broadcasters.
Newcastle turned in their worst performance in a long time and West Ham working hard was enough to win the game allied with some touches of quality from Paqueta and Bowen, plus Newcastle getting some bad luck on top of their poor display.
Burnley lost to Arsenal last time out but before that had won at home to Leeds and away at Wolves.
I think a draw looks on here but I wouldn’t be shocked if Burnley turn up and win.
Sunderland v Arsenal (5.30pm)
Sunderland are another team that have had plenty of luck so far this season and could have been 4-0 down to a poor Everton team on Monday night.
Against a clinical Arsenal side who haven’t conceded a Premier League goal since St James’ Park on 28 September 2025 and who have scored in 15 of their 16 matches this season in all competitions, I see only one result.
Hopefully Arsenal get an early goal and go on to win by at least three or four. That is what I would like to see happen AND how I see this going later today.
Chelsea v Wolves (8pm)
Like Man U and Spurs, Chelsea are so over-hyped.
They have some good players, they have a lot of players, they have spent absolute fortunes, but Chelsea are no better than good, whilst they are often less than that.
Lucky to get a draw against Qarabag in midweek, Chelsea have lost to both Sunderland and Brighton in two of their last three Premier League home matches.
Wolves have some good players but find all kinds of ways to lose this season so far. It looks like Rob Edwards is going to leave Boro to take the job and maybe just maybe, the Wolves players might get something here, as they look to impress the incoming manager. I wouldn’t be putting money on it but Chelsea are as capable of drawing this, as they are of winning 4-0. Just over a months ago, Wolves were leading against both Spurs and Brighton until very late on, before having to settle for a draw in consecutive matches, so not impossible they can do something similar tonight.
