Kieran Trippier says he does not yet know what the future holds for him, with his contract at Newcastle up this summer.
The defender’s four-year stay at Newcastle could come to an end after this season, and asked if he would like to stay beyond his current contract, he responded: “There’s loads of possibilities. Football is a strange game.
“But I understand and respect that my contract is up in the summer.
“Obviously in the next couple of weeks me and the manager will have a talk, of course, but let’s just get tomorrow out the way.”
The 35-year-old says he feels like he has a lot left to give, however.
“Age is just a number, I think with the nutrition, with the sports science, how you look after yourself,” he said.
“For me personally, I feel good, I feel in good shape, of course I’m up against Tino (Livramento) who is a very, very good player but all I can do is give my all as long as I’m here.
“However many games I play until the end of the season, I’ll give my all as I always have done.
“Like I said on my first day, I wanted to help the club get to the position we’re in today and when I leave I know I’ve helped to get the club in the position it’s in. I’ve won a trophy at the club.
“But I’m just focused on tomorrow. I’m not focusing on three months’ time or after this game.”
