Becky Langley has enjoyed an illustrious six years at Newcastle’s helm following her appointment at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
Her first trophy as Magpies boss then arrived in 2021 after she led the team to an emphatic 5-1 win over Wallsend BSC in the Bluefin Sport Insurance Women’s Cup final.
Under Langley’s guidance they then won promotion to the third tier in 2022/23 before they repeated the feat the following term when clinching a place in WSL 2 as champions of the Women’s National League.
Last season, Newcastle then finished fifth in the second tier in their maiden campaign at that level.
Oona Sevenius is Newcastle’s current top scorer in the WSL 2 with two goals to her name so far this season and the Finland international is one of her country’s most promising players.
Having signed for AC Milan in 2023 from HJK, she enjoyed a productive loan spell at Como in 2023/24 before signing for Rosengard in 2025.
After a season in Sweden, she then moved to the Magpies at the start of the season where she has continued her stellar development.
Elsewhere, Newcastle have a City legend in their ranks with Demi Stokes arriving in the north east after leaving the Blues in the summer of 2024.
Jeglertz’s team made it six wins in a row last time out with a late 2-1 win at Liverpool.
After Cornelia Kapocs gave the hosts the lead shortly after half-time, the Blues hit back and equalised through Iman Beney’s powerful effort just over 10 minutes later.
Then with four to play, we went in front for the first time when Aoba Fujino rounded off a wonderful team move to drill home in the closing stages.
