Magpies looking to arrest slide against in-form City
Pep Guardiola’s side are four points adrift of the Gunners in the Premier League table, and they make the trip to St James’ Park to face a Newcastle side that are underperforming this term.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies are 14th after 11 games, winning three and losing five.
They are seven points off the top four, and come into this fixture off the back of two straight defeats.
They were beaten by West Ham and Brentford in their last two outings.
City, meanwhile, will be buoyed after their convincing 3-0 win over the champions Liverpool to back up a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth.
Newcastle vs Man City is scheduled for a 5.30pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The match will take place at St James’ Park.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.
Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Sky Go app and website.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog.
Howe has had to contend with a long injury list.
New signing Yoane Wissa is still waiting for his debut for the club after an injury-ridden start to life in the north-east. He is unlikely to be fit for this clash, but could be available next week after commencing training with his team-mates.
Dan Burn is suspended for this game after his red card after a sending off against Brentford.
There could be as many as five returners for this game, however, with Nick Pope and Anthony Gordon in line for comebacks after withdrawing from England duty.
Valentino Livramento, a transfer target for City, could also be back in the fold alongside Joelinton and William Osula.
As for the visitors, it is touch and go whether Rodri will feature here as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury, while Mateo Kovacic is out until the new year after surgery on his ankle.
City are in form, Newcastle are not, but the form book usually goes out of the window in these kinds of games.
The Gallowgate End will be at full voice looking to roar on the Toon, and, if their star players return to the side, it could be a thrilling encounter.
Should the home side’s lack of quality depth get exposed, however, then City could run out comfortable victors.
