Neymar among nine Santos players free to sign pre-contracts from July | OneFootball

According to Diario Do Peixe, nine Santos players, including Neymar, will be free to sign pre-contracts from July and could leave Vila Belmiro without a fee when their deals end in December.

Neymar returned at the start of the season aiming to regain his Brazil place and play another World Cup. Called up by Carlo Ancelotti, the number 10 met that target, and his next step remains open. The club want to renew his contract but are waiting for a decision after the tournament.

Left-back Gonzalo Escobar has been a regular under Cuca and there is no immediate deputy, with Vinícius Lira still sidelined by a knee injury. Despite his importance, talks over a new deal have yet to reach agreement.

Midfielder Willian Arão, who alternated between starting and the bench in the first half of the year, has regained minutes because João Schmidt, Christian Oliva and Gustavo Henrique have been absent, making him a frequent option for the coaching staff.

Four players out on loan can also sign pre-contracts, namely Patrick at Remo, right-backs Hayner at Vila Nova and Nathan at Juventude, and forward Andrey Quintino at Confiança, who renewed earlier this year.

The list also includes centre-back Alex Nascimento and forward Enzo Boer. Both remain contracted to Santos, train at different times and are outside the coaching staff’s plans while they await clarity on their futures.
