Neymar keeps fit in home gym on Santos day off | OneFootball

Neymar trained in his home gym on Sunday while Santos were given the day off, keeping up his fitness away from CT Rei Pelé.

He shared images from the mansion in Morro Santa Terezinha, in Santos, with fitness coach Ricardo Rosa overseeing the session, according to Globo.com.

He did not feature in the draw with Cruzeiro last Sunday, in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, and is expected to return to the starting XI against Remo on Thursday.

On Saturday he featured in a training game against the under-20s and later said he scored and provided an assist. The club did not disclose the result or line-ups. After that, coach Cuca cancelled Sunday’s planned session, and the squad will reconvene on Monday morning.

Neymar is expected to follow a specific programme aimed at physical recovery, with his workload managed ahead of the final Brazil World Cup squad announcement.

Carlo Ancelotti will announce the list on 18 May. Until then, Santos have 14 matches across the Copa do Brasil, Copa Sul-Americana and the league, and he is likely to play at least half, with his schedule reviewed depending on any call-up.
