Neymar trains as Santos begin preparations for clássico with Corinthians | OneFootball

Santos began preparations on Thursday afternoon for Sunday's clássico against Corinthians at Vila Belmiro. The sixth-round fixture in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A kicks off at 16:00.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the session at CT Rei Pelé featured Neymar on the pitch. The number 10 took part in a technical workout with the ball alongside players who were substitutes or not involved in the 2-2 draw with Mirassol on Tuesday at Estádio Maião.

While that group worked outside, the starters remained indoors at the training centre for post-match recovery after the Brasileirão fixture.

Head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda received encouraging news from the previous match. Centre-back Luan Peres, who sustained a sprain to his left ankle against Mirassol, stayed in the gym with the other starters. He left the pitch in that game due to cramps and will be monitored daily, with early signs that he should be available for the clássico.

Midfielder Zé Rafael is the only player currently in the medical department, undergoing treatment for oedema in the right semimembranosus muscle.

Santos have five points in the Campeonato Brasileiro and will train again on Friday afternoon. From that session, Vojvoda should begin tactical work.
