Former Barcelona star Neymar Jr. played a role in the process which ultimately culminated in Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti agreeing to take up the reins of the Brazilian national team.

That’s according to Radio MARCA, who have on Tuesday provided an insight ino the situation.

The subject of Ancelotti’s future has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across world football over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Italian has agreed to depart Real Madrid following the conclusion of the campaign.

Ancelotti’s next destination? The Brazilian national team, struggling badly for form and identity alike at present.

The Brazilian FA had long been in pursuit of Real Madrid’s headmaster, considered the ideal profile to lead the country’s charge into the 2026 World Cup.

And as alluded to above, the Seleção, at one point, were aided in their efforts by none other than Neymar Jr.

As per Radio MARCA:

‘One of the players who played a key role in Carletto’s arrival to the Brazilian national team was Neymar. He didn’t speak to anyone, but someone very close to Neymar ended up being very influential in Ancelotti’s arrival in Brazil.’
