Nico Paz sends surprise transfer message to Real Madrid | OneFootball

Como star Nico Paz has this week left those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Real Madrid in a collective state of surprise.

This comes after the Argentine informed his former employers of his plan to stay put in Serie A with Como for another 12 months.

Midfielder Paz has of course long been expected to take his talents back to Spain’s capital this summer. After another spectacular campaign on the books of Como, the Real Madrid brass are ready to activate their cut-price buyback clause on the 21-year-old.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, then Paz appears to have other ideas.

As per a report from market expert Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his official YouTube channel, the youngster has conveyed to Florentino Pérez and co. that he would like to remain with Como for one more year.

With a season in the Champions League to look forward to in Italy, Paz is keen to continue his development as a guaranteed starter.

He would then make the move back to the Bernabéu in the summer of 2027.

It now remains to be seen how Real Madrid and new head coach José Mourinho respond to the news.
