Resigning LFP Media chief executive Nicolas de Tavernost does not intend to remain in post for long and wants a brief handover.

According to L'Équipe, he told Monday’s LFP Media supervisory committee that he would forgo his automatic end-of-season bonus of €500,000.

He is prepared to oversee an interim until a successor arrives, but only for a short period. The former M6 group president, 75, is on the verge of starting another role in a different field and does not wish to stay on.

De Tavernost has been particularly annoyed by executives including Loïc Féry of Lorient and Juan Sartori of Monaco, who strongly criticised him at the LFP board meeting last Thursday.

He even considered walking out on the spot.
