The injury to Lamine Yamal, ruling him out of tomorrow’s La Liga game against Valencia, and possibly next week’s UEFA Champions League encounter vs Newcastle United, has sparked anger inside Barcelona.

The Blaugrana hold the Spanish national team and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) responsible for the issue, which was clear from the statements manager Hansi Flick made in his press conference earlier.

The German tactician claimed that Lamine had been in pain before joining the Spain NT camp, but Luis de la Fuente played him for more than 70 minutes in each of their two matches.

RFEF say no contact from Barcelona over Lamine issue

However, according to journalist Alfredo Martinez, the RFEF insists that they were never contacted by Barcelona about Lamine Yamal’s pain or discomfort.

Indeed, the Federation claims that at no point did Barça reach out to let them know about any issue that the 18-year-old wonderkid might be dealing with before Spain’s matches against Bulgaria and Turkey.

Furthermore, the RFEF also insisted that if they had detected any problems or anomalies with the La Masia sensation, he would not have played for La Roja during the break.

As far as they are concerned, Lamine arrived and left the national team camp without any fitness problems or discomfort.

Either way, the situation raises concerns about the management of players with the national team and the communication, or lack thereof, between the RFEF, the Spain staff, and Barcelona.

As for Lamine, as mentioned earlier, he is out of tomorrow’s game against Valencia and is pretty much ruled out of next Thursday’s trip to England to face Newcastle United.

Barcelona will hope to have their star forward back at the earliest possible given how important a player he is in Flick’s setup.
