Liverpool will be without Alexander Isak for an indefinite period after the striker underwent surgery following a fibula fracture sustained in last Saturday’s clash with Tottenham.

The club confirmed that the Swedish international will recover at Liverpool’s Training Centre, with no set timeline for his return to action.

Signed for a Premier League record £125m million from Newcastle, Isak has netted three goals and contributed one assist in 16 appearances so far this season, but now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
