No takers in sight: Nübel will probably return to FC Bayern | OneFootball

A report recently made the rounds that Stuttgart had concrete hopes of signing Alexander Nübel permanently in the summer. According to the latest reports, however, a move to the Swabians is a long way off

as BILD head of soccer Christian Falk reported in the Bayern Insider podcast, there is no truth to the reports surrounding Nübel and a permanent transfer to VfB. There are currently no new developments or concrete talks between FC Bayern and VfB

The situation is more complicated than it appears at first glance. Nübel is still under contract with FC Bayern, but is on loan to Stuttgart. There is no purchase option in the form that has been rumoured. BILD reporter Julian Agardi emphasises that there is currently „a real standstill“. There is no fresh advance, no concrete agreement – and no final decision

Much depends on another personnel matter: Manuel Neuer. Should the captain extend his contract, the goalkeeping hierarchy would be rearranged. Should he retire, a completely new situation would arise. This is precisely why the issue of Nübel is closely linked to Neuer’s future

What’s more, VfB Stuttgart are apparently thinking in a different direction. Dennis Seimen, one of Germany’s biggest goalkeeping talents, is waiting in the wings. The Swabians‘ current plan is to promote Seimen to the Bundesliga goal in the summer, which would further complicate Nübel’s situation

If Stuttgart were to rely on Seimen in the long term, a high-priced purchase of Nübel would be difficult to justify economically

Nevertheless, Nübel remains a fundamental factor in Munich’s squad puzzle. Falk emphasizes that Bayern would love to cash in on the keeper in the summer, meaning they are hoping for a transfer fee in the double-digit million range

As things stand, however, there is no buyer in sight, no concrete talks, no final decision.
