Josh Sargent has been linked with a move to Burnley in January
Darren Huckerby has indicated Norwich City will be asking for a lot more than £1.5 million for Josh Sargent amid interest from Burnley.
It was reported during the weekend by Alan Nixon that the Clarets are planning to return with interest in the player when the market opens in January.
It has been claimed that a £1.5 million offer was turned down in the summer for the US international who has earned a lot of praise for his performances in the Championship.
The 25-year-old has been with the Canaries since 2021, making the move from Werder Bremen, and has established himself as a key part of the side.
However, his form so far this season has been below par, with the striker contributing five goals and two assists from the opening 15 games of the campaign.

Huckerby has cited the £1.5 million figure as not even being good enough to afford his own dodgy hip, let alone a deal for Sargent.
The former Norwich striker has laughed at the idea of the American departing for so little ahead of the market opening in the new year.
“You couldn’t get my knackered right hip for that kind of money!” he wrote, via X, alongside three cry-laughing emojis.
Sargent’s future has previously been the subject of intense speculation due to Norwich’s Championship status.
The striker scored 15 times in the Championship last season from a total of 32 appearances, which earned him a lot of praise despite the team’s underwhelming 13th place finish.
The Canaries’ form has continued to decline this campaign, with the team currently without a manager following the decision to part ways with Liam Manning last weekend.
Norwich are 23rd in the table after 15 games, four points adrift of safety, with their next game coming on 22 November with a trip to face Birmingham City in a 3pm kick-off.

Burnley are an attractive proposition at the moment for Sargent as they can offer Premier League football in January, and they are in a position to potentially remain in the top flight.
Meanwhile, Norwich are in the relegation zone in the Championship and will be heading for League One this summer unless a new manager can drastically turn around their form.
But there is no world in which the Canaries should be considering any offer below the £15 million mark going into the winter market, and he could potentially cost up to £20 or 25 million.
Sargent has a contract until the summer of 2028, so the Norfolk outfit have a lot of leverage in any upcoming negotiations, and it will be even harder to convince the club to cash in if their survival in the second division is at stake.
