The winger reportedly wants to leave the club.

Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup has said that the club have not received any acceptable offers for winger Abu Kamara.

After the young winger's desire to leave Carrow Road this summer was revealed by Nick Mashiter of the BBC, many second tier sides have thrown their names into the proverbial hat.

Pink Un reported that the Canaries had received three separate bids for Kamara since then, but none of them were said to be of a level that Norwich would consider. Hull City and Luton Town were later named by Mashiter as prospective suitors, with offers of around £2.5 million being tabled.

Kamara, 21, spent last season on loan at Portsmouth. He played a big part in bringing the League One trophy to Fratton Park, and his former boss John Mousinho said that they would be in the hunt for the England youth team international if he became available.

However, Andrew Moon, a Pompey commentator, has since said that their chances of landing him aren't great.

There's less than 48 hours to go before the deadline closes and the chance to snap Kamara away from City disappears. So far, there's been nothing that has tempted the Canaries to part ways with him.

Norwich yet to receive an acceptable offer for Abu Kamara

City's young boss has confirmed that there have been no bids placed for the 21-year-old that have caught Norwich's attention.

Speaking ahead of his side's trip to Coventry City for this weekend's early kick-off, Hoff Thorup said, via Pink Un: "If Abu stays then he will be part of the squad. At the moment there’s nothing acceptable."

He also added that City need another midfielder, and that any additional signings made would be in Kamara's position.

Norwich have already lost star winger Jonathan Rowe in this window. He completed a loan move to Marseille, which includes an obligation to buy Rowe at the end of the loan, in a deal worth up to £17 million. The Canaries also have a sell-on clause included in the deal, according to the BBC.

Sheffield United's Anis Slimane is a player that Norwich have been linked with in the latter stages of the summer window. The Blades have been looking to offload him since the end of last season, and Hoff Thorup has said that they are trying to get a deal done for him.

Norwich are in a tricky Abu Kamara position

With less than a year left until he becomes a free agent, the young winger is in a pretty strong position. Given what he did last season, he certainly deserves a shot at playing regularly in the Championship. If that's not going to come at Carrow Road then he is right to look for other opportunities.

For Norwich, unless they start using him and he does well, this is probably the most valuable that he will be. Once this window closes, teams will know it then only becomes a matter of months before they can get him without paying a transfer fee, and the multi-million pound offers that are there now may not be in January.

They certainly look to be taking the stance of having no interest in maximising their profits now and taking what they can get for him before the deadline. That is a pretty dangerous game to play though.

You can't necessarily blame them for wanting to keep him around, but he clearly doesn't want to stay where he is. A lot of work is going to need to be done to rebuild the bridges and get him to stay long-term, if that's what the club's desire is.
