There have been several names linked to the soon-to-be-vacant AC Milan job, but there is one coach that consistently leads the list.
In the past few months, Sergio Conceicao’s role has never seemed secure, and despite the fact that he could win a second trophy in six months next week, Milan are seemingly going to look for a new coach for next season.
It is a decision which many find baffling. However, the Rossoneri are the only reason why this position exists – with reports stating that a failure to back the coach has led to this point.
Of course, there is still time for conversations to happen, but a new manager in the summer seems like a definite.
Many names have been thrown into the mix, but that of Massimilano Allegri remains the most probable, with reports linking the Italian most often. Today though, Alessandro Costacurta has admitted that he does not think he is the ‘best option’, and his words to Sky Sport have been transcribed by Milan News.
“With this material, to date, the best coach for players like this is Allegri. However, I am not in love with the latest Allegri and we will have to see what the new sporting director decides. But for the characteristics of the players, Allegri could enhance the qualities of this team. It would be a philosophy a little different from that of Milan.”
