The heavy spend has not translated into progress on the pitch, and for the third time in four Premier League seasons they are fighting relegation.

Forest’s payments totalled £12,210,822, one million pounds down on the previous 12 months, placing them 16th among Premier League clubs. Below them, Fulham paid £11m, Everton £10m and Burnley £7m.

Chelsea led the division on £65m in agent fees, with Aston Villa next on £38m. Manchester City and Liverpool followed on £37m and £34m respectively.
