Nottingham Forest are in line for payments from FIFA’s £263.6 million Club Benefits Programme for clubs providing players to this summer’s World Cup. The expanded scheme now covers 1,009 matches, including qualifiers and the play-offs before the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

According to Nottingham Post, clubs are paid a daily rate for each selected player, even if unused, from the release date, reportedly 10 days before their tournament starts, to the team’s final match.

FIFA has yet to confirm the 2026 daily rate, but the 2022 figure was $10,950 (£8,131), which provides a guide for estimates.

Using that reference, Forest could bank £162,620 for 23-year-old Elliot Anderson’s group-stage involvement with Thomas Tuchel’s England squad. If England reach the 19 July final in New York, the total for the midfielder would rise to £341,502. These sums exclude separate payments linked to World Cup qualifiers under the updated rules.

Forest also have Chris Wood and Tyler Bindon with New Zealand, Dan Ndoye with Switzerland and Ibrahim Sangare with Ivory Coast at the finals. Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn will be there too, although his City Ground contract is due to expire this summer.

Payments are shared with a player’s current club and any club he represented in the two years before the tournament. However far Forest’s contingent go, the programme will help to bring in additional income.
