According to a report from Foot Mercato, Nottingham Forest have submitted an offer to sign Soungoutou Magassa (21) from Monaco. The first offer submitted by the Premier League outfit is believed to be in the region of €13m.

Forest’s first bid for the defensive midfielder has been rejected by Les Monégasques. The Principality club are commanding a fee in the region of €18m plus bonuses for their academy graduate. Magassa is interested in playing for Nottingham due to the opportunity to move to the Premier League and play in European football. Serie A and Bundesliga clubs are also interested in the defensive midfielder.

The 21-year-old is currently contracted at the Stade Louis II until 2029. With the Ligue 1 club holding out for a higher fee, it remains to be seen if Nottingham will return with another offer in hopes of prizing Magassa to the City Ground. Personal terms between the Premier League club and player should be easy to reach, given his desire to make the move.
