According to Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest suffered a fresh injury scare involving Chris Wood early in the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Porto at the City Ground.

The tie had been finely balanced after a 1-1 first leg in Portugal. Morgan Gibbs-White struck in the 12th minute to put the Reds 1-0 up on the night and 2-1 ahead on aggregate.

Wood was forced off in the 16th minute after a heavy challenge from Jan Bednarek, which resulted in the Porto player being sent off.

The striker received treatment and initially continued, but he soon went to ground again and was replaced by Igor Jesus.

The New Zealand international has only just returned from a long knee lay-off, and Forest will hope it is a positive that the contact was to his opposite knee to the one operated on. He was able to walk off, and this was only his third appearance since October.
