Nottingham Forest are exploring additions up front and have identified Mehdi Taremi as their leading candidate, The Athletic reports. The Iran forward plays for Evangelos Marinakis' Olympiacos.
The 33-year-old is among four options under consideration as the club seek extra support for Igor Jesus.
With Chris Wood injured and Arnaud Kalimuendo loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt, Sean Dyche has only Taiwo Awoniyi in reserve while Igor Jesus leads the line.
Taremi is viewed as the option Forest are most keen on and the most realistic.
He left the Middle East for Rio Ave in 2019, then spent four productive seasons at Porto, scoring 91 in 182 and winning the Portuguese league and three cups. He moved to Inter Milan for last season and was in the squad that reached the Champions League final before switching to Greece in the summer. Since then he has scored 13 times, including eight in the league.
