On a second Marbella camp in under two months, l'OM have folded in several prospects, among them Nouhoum Kamissoko, Ange Lago, Hilan Hamzaoui and Ugo Lamare, before Saturday’s trip to Lorient at 17:00. The Marseillais are fourth in Ligue 1.

L'Équipe reports the squad met at La Commanderie on Monday, then flew to Andalusia for five days at the Marbella Football Center, following February’s first stay and last season’s double ritiro in Rome under Roberto De Zerbi.

For Habib Beye, that initial stint, soon after his appointment and the 0-2 defeat at Brest, was chiefly to assess the group, revive fitness and fix a spine. It brought an immediate 3-2 win at OL, though inconsistency remained.

Before Lorient, the delegation believe another sunny week, without excessive heat, can sustain confidence after Friday’s 3-1 victory over Metz, using top conditions while easing Provençal routine and pressure.

Sessions have mixed gym work, ball work and training matches. Some also see a way to keep all players engaged for the run-in, even as the next window distracts.

Staying true to their method, staff have called up youth. Alongside Ange Lago, 21, already present in February and regularly with the first team, are forward Ugo Lamare, 18, a Youth League stand-out, midfielder Nouhoum Kamissoko, 21, and centre-back Hilan Hamzaoui, 20, usually with the reserves.

Hamzaoui, a 2024 Gambardella winner who trained with the first team last week and has impressed in National 3, could benefit from Facundo Medina’s suspension on Saturday to join the group, with Nayef Aguerd and C.J. Egan Riley in rehabilitation. l'OM stay in Marbella until Friday, hold the pre-match press conference by videolink, then fly straight to Lorient.
