Parker returns to his former club on Saturday afternoon as the Blues host Burnley in an important game for both teams.

Chelsea need the points in the race for Champions League qualification, whilst the Clarets are desperate for points as they try to perform a great escape and beat the drop.

Scott Parker praises Liam Rosenior

The Blues won the corresponding fixture 2-0 back in November under Enzo Maresca, but Rosenior is now the man in the dugout.

The 41-year-old has made a good start to life in west London, and remains unbeaten in the league with four wins and a draw from his five games.

Burnley are the type of team Chelsea should be beating, and with the tough schedule in March, the Blues really need the three points.

Liam Rosenior has confirmed Marc Cucurella is out, and speaking ahead of the game Parker praised his opposite number.

“But yeah, a fantastic football club and obviously going up against Liam, who’s done fantastically well in a short space of time there as well,” he said via Hayters.

“And seeing him develop as a young coach, I came across him when he was an assistant with Wayne at Derby.

“So, he’s been in his company and done remarkably well at Strasbourg, going abroad, and with what that feels like, certainly.

“So, yeah, he’s done well and we’re looking forward to the game for sure.”

Paul Merson and Chris Sutton give predictions

Chelsea are without doubt viewed as overwhelming favourites, but will still need to be fully focused on the task at hand.

The Blues will need to avoid the poor errors made against Leeds, and if they do that they have more than enough quality to punish Burnley.

Paul Merson has tipped Chelsea return to winning ways, whilst Christ Sutton agrees and doubts there will be a repeat of what happened against Leeds.
