A massive game for FC Barcelona now arrives in the form of a visit to Real Valladolid. While it is true that the opposition has struggled a lot this season, the Catalan giants can not afford to take this game lightly. After all, Barcelona are aiming to temporarily extend their lead in La Liga to seven points.

However, La Blaugrana also have a crucial UEFA Champions League fixture right after this game. Following a 3-3 draw against Inter Milan at the Montjuic Stadium, Barcelona must now travel to Italy to take on their opponents at the San Siro and look to win that game.

Pablo Torre continues to suffer

For that reason, it was expected that Hansi Flick would rotate his starting eleven in this game against Real Valladolid. That starting eleven would likely include players who have had very little prominence over the last few months, and one such player was Pablo Torre.

Unfortunately, however, his luck just continues to drag him down. As per official confirmation from FC Barcelona, the 22-year-old Spanish midfielder has suffered an injury to his left knee and it is due to discomfort in that area that he will have to be sidelined.

Hansi Flick has several alternatives at Barcelona

As a consequence, he was even left out of the recent squad list that will be travelling to face off against Real Valladolid. While it is definitely a blow to Barcelona, it is perhaps an even bigger blow to Torre’s own confidence and motivation given that he would have likely had minutes in this upcoming game.

In terms of alternative options, however, Hansi Flick is not exactly lost. The likes of Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, and Pedri all offer the coach with some reliable options to use at Barcelona, and that perhaps makes Torre’s situation even more complex on top of his lack of opportunities.
