Ahmed Hassan (32) has left Le Havre AC, just six months after joining the club on a free transfer. The Egyptian forward’s contract at Rio Ave expired last summer. Without a club for several months, he pitched up at Le Havre in January. Signing a short-term deal, he was brought in to secure the club’s top-flight status. Having accomplished that mission, he has now made a swift departure.

After arriving at the Normand club, Hassan scored three goals in 16 appearances, earning the club seven points in the process. Those goals were crucial as Le Havre secured their survival in the top-flight in the final minute of the final day of the Ligue 1 season.

Officialising his departure, HAC said that the Egypt international had “completed his mission” at the club by helping them reach their objective. Two of his goals came in slender wins over RC Lens and Lille OSC, the other coming in a 1-1 draw against AS Monaco. Hassan is now once again a free agent.
