Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has on Monday secured for himself a prestigious individual award.

This comes amid confirmation that the Uruguayan has been handed the prize for the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Season 2025/26.

Valverde’s award-winning strike came during a Round-of-16 first-leg tie against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, back in March.

En route to Man of the Match honours, the midfielder rounded out a remarkable hat-trick courtesy of a moment of individual magic.

Sent through on goal by Brahim Díaz, Valverde lifted the ball over the head of Marc Guéhi with a deft first touch, before rifling a volley into the far corner of the Man City net:

And as alluded to above, such exploits have early this week seen the 27-year-old aptly rewarded.

Valverde has beaten out stiff competition to secure the accolade for Champions League Goal of the Season.

The South American has become the 2nd Real Madrid star to lift an individual trophy over the last 24 hours, after Arda Güler was named Young Player of the Season in the Champions League.
