FC Barcelona have issued an official statement confirming that Lamine Yamal is once again experiencing pubic discomfort that had sidelined him for three weeks in September.
The La Liga champions confirmed that the superstar winger, as a result, will be out for two-three weeks again, ruling him out of Sunday’s La Liga clash vs Sevilla.
“The pubic discomfort affecting player Lamine Yamal has reappeared after the match against PSG. He is out against Sevilla and the estimated recovery time is 2-3 weeks,” the statement read.
Lamine returned from the previous international window with Spain with pubic discomfort and went on to miss four games against Valencia, Newcastle United, Getafe, and Real Oviedo.
The winger made his comeback against Real Sociedad, coming on as a substitute and starring in the second half. Having gained some rhythm, he started earlier this week against PSG, but was seen limping off the pitch after the game.
Now, it has been confirmed that the pain and discomfort have reappeared, ruling him out for two weeks at least.
What it also means is that Lamine will not be travelling with the Spain national team squad for their matches against Georgia and Bulgaria in the upcoming international break.
The hope will be that the 18-year-old winger will be fit in time to for Barcelona’s La Liga game against Girona after the international break.
