La Liga champions Barcelona have this weekend been afforded a considerable boost on the monetary front.
This comes amid confirmation that, somewhat out of the blue, Sporting CP made the call to buy Barcelona out of their remaining ownership rights to Francisco Trincão.
Attacker Trincão has for his part been plying his trade in Lisbon since back in 2022, after a successful loan stint culminated in Sporting pulling the trigger on making the Portuguese’s signing permanent.
At the time, the capital club purchased 50% of Trincão’s playing rights.
And as alluded to above, this week, the remaining half of their highly-regarded winger’s rights have been snapped up by Sporting, too.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and Sporting Clube de Portugal have reached an agreement to sell the 50% of the rights the Club held over player Francisco Trincão.’
As confirmed by a number of sources across the Spanish media, the Camp Nou brass have pocketed €11 million for their part in the deal.
