FC Barcelona are now set to kick off their game against Atletico Madrid soon in La Liga. A crucial encounter, it is one that will test both sides to their absolute limit. However, Barcelona know that anything but a victory here would be a result that does not do them any good.
Fortunately for La Blaugrana, they have a squad that has the ability to deliver results against any side. It now all depends on the players that Hansi Flick has decided to rely on for this game to perform at their best possible level and give all three points to Barcelona at the Metropolitano.
Here is the official starting eleven that Hansi Flick has decided to field for Barcelona in this clash.
In goal, Polish shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the team’s starting goalkeeper. His record has been immense so far for the team, and Flick will be hoping he can keep Atletico Madrid at bay for this game as well.
Right in front of him, as was reported as well, Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez will be the two starting centre-backs. Both Spaniards will know exactly what their responsibilities are for this game, and they will need to defend and play out from the back as well.
Out on the defensive flanks, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde will be the two starting fullbacks for the team. Both players are aware of their defensive duties, but they will need to be offensively helpful as well in order to break down the Atletico Madrid structure.
Over in the midfield, the two-man pivot will be comprised of Marc Casado and Pedri. Both players have the creative ability to pick out the most effective pass, but they will need to put their legs to work as well in order to keep up with the intensity of the opposition.
Ahead of them, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal cover the wings as the team’s two deadliest forwards. Their creativity and threat infront of goal will likely keep Atletico Madrid busy, and they have Dani Olmo operating between them to create some danger himself.
Up top, as the lone centre-forward, is Polish ace Robert Lewandowski. With Kylian Mbappe now closing in on his La Liga goal tally, this is a chance for the Polish striker to show his best version and grab some goals for himself as well.
