An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will on Saturday take to the pitch in a competitive setting at senior level for the very first time.

The player in question? Toni Fernández.

Barcelona are of course set to return to action in short order.

Following the conclusion of the October international break, the Blaugrana have welcomed neighbours Girona to Montjuïc, for a La Liga clash.

Hansi Flick’s starting XI for the fixture was unveiled a short time ago, with the most high-profile inclusion coming in the form of the returning Lamine Yamal.

And as alluded to above, joining Lamine in Barca’s frontline will be breakthrough sensation Toni Fernández.

Youngster Toni has for his part long been making a name for himself as a potential future star in the making in Catalunya’s capital, by way of a string of stellar performances for Barca Atlètic.

A 17-year-old forward/winger, the Spaniard will in turn be afforded the chance to prove his talents in La Liga for the first time this afternoon.
