The confirmation of Borussia Dortmund keeper Diant Ramaj’s loan out to Heidenheim came with a surprising twist. The Bundesliga’s Ostalbstädter wasted no time in confirming that Ramaj will serve as this season’s starter between the sticks. Longtime FCH keeper Kevin Müller is headed to America’s MLS.
Ramaj will immediately be thrust into the No. 1 role at his old academy side, at which he actually never made a professional appearance. In any event, the 23-year-old’s stated desire to be a Bundesliga starter has been quickly confirmed. Club CEO Holger Sanwald explained everything in an FCH statement.
“Kevin Müller informed us on the first day of pre-season training that he would like to consider a move to the MLS if an offer came in,” Sanwald remarked. “We have thus decided to bring in Diant Ramaj as our new number one.”
Which MLS side the 34-year-old Müller will be moving to isn’t clear yet. Müller served as Heidenheim’s No. 1 for nine consecutive 2. Bundesliga and Bundesliga campaigns.
