FC Metz have officially announced the signing of Abdoulaye Nassoko’s (18) first professional contract. The French Under-18 international has agreed to a three-year deal with Les Grenats, running until 2029.
A former player for US Vandoeuvre Football and AS Nancy-Lorraine, the young centre-back joined Metz’s academy in 2023. A key member of the Lorraine side’s reserve team, he started in each of his 14 appearances in National 3, the equivalent of the French fifth tier, this season.
Powerful, strong in one-on-one situations and possessing undeniable athletic ability, Nassoko becomes, after Adam Marchal (18) and Nathan Mbala (18), the third player from FC Metz’s academy to sign his first professional contract in recent weeks.
This signing further highlights the desire of the club, which are the fourth smallest budget in Ligue 1 (€40 million) this season, to promote their academy and place their trust in their talented young players.
