Beppe Marotta has been at Inter Milan since 2018. He joined the club as CEO of Sport not long after departing from Juventus.

Marotta’s arrival at Inter has brought sporting success to the club. This after a number of trophyless years.

Since Marotta joined Inter, the Nerazzurri have won the Serie A title three times, the Coppa Italia twice, and the Supercoppa Italiana three times.

Meanwhile, Inter have reached two Champions League finals and a Europa League final under Marotta’s stewardship.

Marotta has been the architect of Inter’s transfer policy. He has brought his famous eye for a free transfer or bargain deal that he had utilized so effectively at Juventus.

Inter have brought in big names like Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcus Thuram on free transfers.

This has allowed the Nerazzurri to keep their level high on the pitch despite a major financial crisis brought on by the COVID-19 lockdown.

Meanwhile, Marotta has brought coaches Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi to Inter. This summer, he and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio took a big gamble on former defender Cristian Chivu.

Last May, Beppe Marotta became Inter Milan’s President in addition to CEO of Sport.

This occurred after Oaktree Capital replaced Suning as owners of the club. They chose Marotta to replace outgoing club President Steven Zhang.

And now, the club have announced another big step forward with Marotta:

“Giuseppe Marotta, who was appointed Inter’s President at the shareholders’ meeting on 4th June 2024, has now become a shareholder of the Club with a stake close to 2 percent.”

“A year into Marotta’s presidency, both he and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”), have decided to consolidate their successful partnership.”

“Marotta’s investment reflects his commitment to Inter and his shared vision and fully aligned long-term goals with Oaktree for the benefit of the Club and its ongoing development.”

“Throughout his nearly four-decade-long career and the unwavering dedication he has shown to Inter over the last seven years, Marotta has provided the club with steadfast leadership.”

“Over the 2024-2025 season, the collaboration between Marotta and Oaktree has helped set the course for a multi-year strategic plan to ensure stability at the Club, strong financial results and the success of Inter on and off the pitch.”

“The recently established the Under-23 team is the latest example of their shared conviction for sustainable, long-term growth.”

“Following this news, Inter starts the new season with greater unity of purpose for its ownership, management, registered members, employees, and fans.”
