Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu has been diagnosed with a thigh injury and will undergo new tests in 10 days to determine his recovery time.
The French defender was subbed off during the first half of Juventus’ 2-0 loss against Benfica on Wednesday night and underwent medical tests on Thursday morning.

“Pierre Kalulu, who left the pitch in the first half of the Champions League fixture against Benfica, underwent medical examinations this morning – Thursday, 30 January – at J|Medical, which revealed a low-grade lesion to the semimembranosus muscle tendon in his right thigh,” Juventus said in a statement.
“In about 10 days’ time, new tests will be carried out to determine the player’s recovery time.”
This means Kalulu will miss upcoming Serie A matches against Empoli and Como and is in doubt for a league game against Inter in Turin on February 16.
Juventus didn’t have another centre-back available against Benfica last night so Manuel Locatelli was introduced as a centre-back and the Old Lady conceded the opening goal just a few seconds later.
Kalulu joined Juventus on loan with an option to buy from Milan last summer and has been a regular starter at the Allianz Stadium, making 29 appearances across all competitions.
Juventus host Empoli at the Allianz Stadium next Sunday in Serie A.
