RC Lens winger Florian Thauvin (32) has earned a recall into Didier Deschamps’ France squad. The 2018 World Cup winner has replaced Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Randal Kolo Muani (26), as revealed by the French FA. The PSG loanee was forced off the Premier League clash between the North London side and Manchester United. Kolo Muani sustained a lower jaw injury.
To replace Randal Kolo Muani, Deschamps has opted to give Thauvin a recall. The RC Lens winger already received a late call-up last month when PSG winger Bradley Barcola pulled out of the France squad. Thauvin notably took his chance and scored an acrobatic volley against Azerbaijan. He will be given another chance to impress against Ukraine, on Thursday, and against Azerbaijan, three days later.
