Pape Meïssa Ba has officially left Schalke 04 to join Widzew Lodz in Poland on Friday, September 5, 2025. The Senegalese forward has signed a three-year contract with the Polish top-flight club, keeping him there until 2028.

Pape Meïssa Ba finalized his departure from Schalke following open discussions with the German club's sporting management. Having arrived in Gelsenkirchen in January 2025, the striker did not get the playing time he had hoped for. Both the technical staff and the player agreed on an early exit, which was approved earlier this week.

Polish club Widzew Łódź made his signing official on Friday, announcing a long-term deal. The financial details of the move have not been disclosed. The 28-year-old joins a squad in the midst of a rebuild, with the clear goal of strengthening the attacking line.

"Pape is a player who will help us achieve our goals thanks to his vast experience and football intelligence. He also brings a different profile compared to our other forwards, giving the coach more options to mix and match in attack. He has excellent vision and creative ideas on the pitch," said Mindaugas Nikolicius, sporting director of Widzew Łódź.
