The injury woes continue to trouble Real Madrid as they officially announced today that defender Eder Militao has been sidelined with a muscular problem in his left leg.

“Following tests carried out on our player Eder Militão by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his left leg. Pending evolution,” the statement from the club read.

Militao had already suffered an injury last month that led to him withdrawing from the Brazil squad, but the centre-back recovered earlier than expected and did not miss any matches for Real Madrid.

However, last week, the defender had to be withdrawn from the game against Lille before the hour mark with a fresh injury.

Despite that, Militao made himself available for the La Liga clash against Villarreal on Saturday and even featured for less than 20 minutes.

But, the Real Madrid man seemingly exacerbated his condition and was once again forced to drop out of the Brazil squad. Now tests carried out have revealed a quadriceps injury in his left leg.

It will certainly come as a huge blow for Real Madrid, who have already lost Dani Carvajal for the rest of the season while David Alaba is still no closer to returning.

In some positive news, though, Arancha Rodriguez reports that the Brazilian will be out for a period of only ten days, meaning he could be ready in time for Real Madrid’s return to action after the international break.
