The Top 30 nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or were finally announced today and three Real Madrid players have made the cut.
Indeed, star forwards Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and midfield ace Jude Bellingham both find themselves in contention for the top individual prize in football.
Mbappe enjoyed a fine debut campaign at Real Madrid, finishing as the top scorer in La Liga, and winning the European Golden Boot, in the process helping the team lift the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Vinicius, who had finished second in the 2024 Ballon d’Or race behind Rodri, also finds himself in contention again even though his 2024/25 campaign was not his best, as he was hampered by injuries and lack of consistency.
Bellingham, who was third in 2024 Ballon d’Or standings, is also in the running following a fairly solid campaign although it failed to reach the heights of his debut year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
While the Real Madrid trio may be in the Top 30, the likelihood of them winning is quite slim this season, with the likes of Ousmane Dembele (PSG), Lamine Yamal, Pedri (both Barcelona), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), among the top contenders.
