Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Josep Martinez in goal and Tajon Buchanan at right-wingback against Udinese. This evening’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen clash kicks off at 21.00 CET.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has made big changes to his team this evening.

The Nerazzurri take on Udinese in the Coppa Italia round of sixteen. However, this comes just a couple days after their Serie A win over Lazio.

Therefore, Inzaghi is resting a number of starters.

Moreover, the Inter coach is taking the chance to give opportunities to some players who haven’t started often this season.

Josep Martinez Makes Inter Milan Debut

Most notably, former Genoa and RB Leipzig keeper Josep Martinez gets the nod in goal.

Inter signed Martinez over the summer as a long-term successor to Yann Sommer. However, Sommer has held down the starting spot so far this season.

Therefore, Martinez has yet to get a look in.

That changes this evening, however – the 26-year-old starts between the posts for Inter.

In defense, meanwhile, Inzaghi has gone with a back three of Matteo Darmian, Yann Bisseck, and Alessandro Bastoni.

Then, on the flanks there is another notable name. Canadian international Tajon Buchanan makes his first ever start for Inter.

Buchanan joined Inter last January, and has made several appearances as a substitute. However, he’s yet to start.

But this evening, the 25-year-old starts at right-wingback.

On the left, meanwhile, Carlos Augusto gets the nod. And in midfield, it is the trio of Piotr Zielinski, Kristjan Asllani, and Davide Frattesi.

Lastly, Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic lead the line for Inter.

In terms of injury, Inter are without Nicolo Barella, who has suffered a thigh problem. Therefore, he joins Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Raffaele Di Gennaro on the sidelines.
