Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has decided to retain Ange-Yoan Bonny in attack for tonight’s Serie A showdown against Roma, partnering captain Lautaro Martinez at the Stadio Olimpico.

This evening’s Matchday 7 clash kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 BST) in the Italian capital, as Inter look to extend their impressive winning streak in both Serie A and the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri arrive on the back of five consecutive victories across all competitions and will aim to maintain their momentum against a Roma side rejuvenated under Gian Piero Gasperini.

The hosts, meanwhile, are unbeaten at home this season and boast the league’s best defensive record so far.

Chivu has a nearly full squad available, with Marcus Thuram still recovering from a muscle problem.

All eyes will be on the Inter attack, where Bonny has once again been trusted to start.

The 20-year-old French striker, who impressed with his power and movement in recent outings, partners Lautaro Martinez from the first whistle as Chivu continues to show faith in his young forwards.

Bonny picked up three assists in the win over Cremonese prior to the international break.

Meanwhile, Lautaro, fresh from scoring for both club and country, leads the line as Inter’s captain and talisman.

The Argentine will look to replicate last season’s decisive strike at the Olimpico, when his goal secured all three points for the Nerazzurri.

With Bonny retaining his spot, Francesco Pio Esposito is expected to start from the bench and could feature in the second half.

Elsewhere, Chivu has opted for continuity across the pitch, keeping faith in the same structure that has brought recent success.

Yann Sommer starts in goal behind a familiar back three of Akanji, Acerbi, and Bastoni. On the flanks, Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco provide width and attacking support.

In midfield, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan form a balanced trio tasked with dictating the tempo and supporting transitions both ways.

Inter will seek to assert their usual dominance in possession while remaining alert to Roma’s quick counter-attacking threats.
